Earlier today, Emirates announced its financial results for 2018/2019. Although the airline did post a profit for the 31st consecutive year, it was actually the lowest profit made at the airline in the last decade. Profits dropped by 69% at the main airline brand and by 44% at the wider Emirates Group which owns dnata and a whole load of other brands.
Unfortunately, staff have been told that despite their hard work, the airline didn’t make enough for anyone to get a profit sharing bonus. Apparently, while Emirates Group made AED 2.3 billion, the target to trigger a bonus was AED 4.5 billion!
