I plan to attend an Emirates Open Day in another country. How long will the recruitment event take? Should I book two nights hotel accommodation or can I leave the same day as the Open Day?
An Open Day normally starts at 08:00 am sharp but you should be at the venue with plenty of time to spare – we would recommend arriving at least 30-minutes early, so factor this into any travel plans you make.
There are two distinct stages of the Open Day: The first stage involves a presentation and CV drop-off which will take between 2-3 hours. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to take part in the second stage or what is referred to as the Assessment Day. This normally takes place straight away and will again last 2-3 hours.
If you make it through all stages of the Assessment Day, you will then be invited to Final Interview. This is an Online Video Interview which is arranged at a later date – generally a couple of weeks after the Assessment Day.
In some rare cases, the Assessment Day may be postponed to a later date (especially if a lot of candidates turn up to the Open Day and the shortlisting process takes longer than anticipated). If this happens, you will have to consult with a recruiter so that you can attend an AD in a location that is most convenient.
